59E59 Theaters has announced that it will present the New York premiere of a revival of Stephen Schwartz’s musical “Working” beginning Dec. 1 as part of its fall season. Based on the 1974 nonfiction book of the same name by the oral historian Studs Terkel, this version of “Working,” which had a run last year at the Broadway Playhouse in Chicago, includes two new songs written by Lin-Manuel Miranda (“In the Heights”). Casting has not been announced.
Composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, who wrote the two new songs featured in the production of WORKING as well as the hit musical “In the Heights,” came to see the final product of his work last week – meeting the cast and participating in the post-show “Working Heroes” talkback series.

Anonymous asked: OK sign me up but how does a telent-free nerd particate? There are no words to describe how much i love this man and ITH and how he has changed my life. Can i borrow soneone's talent just for this contest?
Hey there Anon! We think a self proclaimed talent free nerd can definitely participate, how about a collaboration with someone else’s talent? Would that be possible? I’m thinking a commission could be an option, but if you actually get Lin to be your intern and help you - he’d also have to help anyone else who wants to commission help from someone (having flash backs of the Hardly Working Rap Battle video- we wouldn’t want anyone to end up like Amir!) but if it is something that is plagiarized, that’s not eligible. If you’ve spoken to the person, have their blessing and give them credit, that would be fine, but they would also be eligble for the gift, and you guys would have to work that out. If you want to submit something that someone else has done, but you can’t speak with them etc, be sure to give them credit. Your credit would be for introducing us to that person’s work.
I do hope you will participate! You might find your talent yet :-).
Thanks for sending us a message! Don’t hesitate to send us a message guys.
