Revised 'Working' to Play Off-Broadway, with New Songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda ›
Prospect Theater Company has announced full casting for Off-Broadway’s Working, a fresh adaptation of the 1978 Broadway musical that features new material by Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda. The New York premiere will begin performances Dec. 1, prior to an official opening Dec. 12, at 59E59 Theaters as part of the company’s fall season…
The revival of Working, the musical inspired by Studs Terkel’s best-selling collection of oral histories about vocations, is adapted by Wicked, Godspell and Pippin writer Stephen Schwartz (co-creator of the original production) and Nina Faso with additional contributions by Greenberg. The limited run will continue through Dec. 30.
In the Heights Tony Award winner Miranda has written additional songs for the musical, which features a score by Craig Carnelia, Micki Grant, Mary Rodgers and Susan Birkenhead, Schwartz and James Taylor.
